Carlos A. Yancy recently joined SLTI as a test developer and test translation manager. A bilingual speaker of Spanish and English and a native of Puerto Rico, Carlos has 16 years of experience as an educator. He holds a Master’s Degree in English, with a specialization in Linguistics and Bilingual Studies from the University of Puerto Rico. He is also a doctoral student in Education Administration and Policy Studies at George Washington University.
Carlos has served as a school principal and college instructor in Puerto Rico and most recently as a teacher for Spanish immersion programs at DC Public schools. He also served as the lead translator for Spanish publications in the Office of Communications and Public Liaison of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases in Bethesda, MD. Mr. Yancy has extensive experience in teaching, medical interpretation, minority outreach and curricula development.
