Ann Evers

Ann Evers began working at SLTI in the fall of 2009 as a test developer. Since joining the SLTI team, Ann has assisted with the development of Translation and Interpreter tests for Pashto, Dari and Farsi languages. She also serves as project manager for the development of English to Arabic and Arabic to English Translation tests.

Prior to SLTI, Ann worked in Japan and Canada as an ESL teacher. She administered the Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) test; developed items for the Second Language Evaluation test used by the Canadian Government to assess candidates for bilingual positions; and conducted research into the effects of testing processes for ESL students prior to and after completing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT).

More recently, Ann worked in Assessment at the American Institutes for Research. As a member of the English Language Arts (ELA) content team, Ann created the ELA content for standards-based assessments for the states of Ohio, Hawaii and the city of Chicago. Additionally, she was the lead test developer for the Ohio Test of English Language Acquisition (OTELA). Ann holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada and an MA in Linguistics and Applied Language Studies from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
